Companion Animal Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) is a non-profit animal rescue
group made up entirely of volunteers. We do not operate a shelter and instead
rely on volunteer foster homes to house and care for the pets in our program.
All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and tested for heartworms
(dogs) or FIV/FeLV (cats) prior to adoption. Most pets are also microchipped.
Adopting A Friend:
If you're looking for a new companion, stop by an adoption day or check our
listings of pets who are currently searching for new families! Some of our adoptable
dogs and cats can be seen on Saturdays from 11am-4pm at the Petsmart in John's
Creek; however, if you're interested in a specific pet, please contact the listed
foster home for an application. Once your application has been reviewed, the
foster parent will set up a time for a "meet and greet" (often at our weekend
adoption days) so that you can spend some time getting to know the pet you're
interested in. Our adoption fees are $175 for dogs/puppies and $120 for cats/kittens.
Volunteering:
As a volunteer-only organization, the number of pets we can help is limited
by the number of foster homes we have available to care for them. We're always
looking for people willing and able to take an animal (or two) into their homes,
while we work to find forever homes for the displaced pets. Food is provided
and veterinary expenses are also paid for by CARL - you just provide a safe,
temporary home, and of course, lots of love!
Even if you can't foster, there are still other things you can do. We need
people to help with our adoption days (particularly at set-up and breakdown time),
assist with our newsletter, organize fundraisers and help transport homeless
pets. For more information about volunteering, contact us at
carl@mail2help.com.
